Lovely light and perspective. From the shadows and light I get a felt sense of mid day, early afternoon. The absence of people makes me think it’s siesta time?

You got it right 🙂 It was taken in the afternoon and almost everybody was resting or at least avoiding the heat.

… makes me wonder, what is up those steps? Who lives behind those canted doorways? What do the neighbors on this little walkway talk about, do they talk at all to each other? So cool!

It felt like one of those places where everybody knows everybody, but I couldn’t exactly say why. I only had almost two hours to explore, but it was worth braving that hot afternoon sun. Somehow, I felt the pace over there is much more relaxed than what I’m used to, and I think it would make a great writing retreat.

Oh! a hot afternoon. Whew. I can see folks taking shelter inside those cool homes behind the doorways. Fun!
