I’ve never seen so many of them in the one place before. They’re reed stacks (or piles? no idea how to properly describe them in English…) and in the past they were traditionally used for thatch roofs in that area.

They’re piles of reed (I hope that’s the right word 😀 ) left to dry in the sun. I thought they looked interesting.
